Break out Friday morning leads to a good week!

Here is an update as of Friday at 9:15 AM Central. (I have a busy weekend coming, hence my early release of the newsletter.)

The stock market has moved higher in the early going, feeding off a relatively friendly Personal Income and Spending Report for May that featured gains in income and spending and a moderation in inflation pressure. In brief, it was a market-friendly report that fit the script of a soft landing and potentially a rate cut before the November election. The S&P 500 has topped 5,500. The CME FedWatch Tool shows a 67.7% probability of a 25-basis pints rate cut at the September FOMC meeting versus 65.9%.

The Vig Co. portfolio was up this week. (As of Friday at 9:15 AM Central.)

I hope to get another update out on Sunday as it is the end of the month.

Here is what we are watching today.

Daily Sector Performance. You can see that Semiconductors, Tech, and Regional Banks having a good day so far. Defensive Staples and Utilities lagging.

SP500 2 hour. You can see the breakout today after sideways consolidation since mid-June. Hopefully, the breakout holds and it leads us into a good July.
