V2 Model Feb 11 2023 Update

CPI St. Valentines Day Massacre Tuesday? Or all roses?

Recap

The stock market lost some ground this week due to a sense that the market was due for a period of consolidation on the back of rate-hike and valuation concerns. Coming off last Friday's much stronger than expected January employment report, there wasn't a great deal of conviction on the sell side or the buy side this week. Ultimately, the major indices all registered losses, which had the S&P 500 settle Friday's session below the 4,100 level.

The V2 Portfolio was flat this week and we gained on the SP500.

Will Tuesday's CPI data be the start of a St. Valentines Day Massacre? You can see what we will be watching below.
